If you have trouble signing in to your
Hotmail account, we want to help you get back to your account as quickly as
possible.
Some basic troubleshooting steps you can
try:
Verify that capitalization is disabled and
that your email address is spelled correctly.
Clear your browser history (this is how it
is for Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer).
Try to log in to your account from a
different Internet browsers.
If you don't remember your password or it
doesn't work, reset it.
Go to Recover your account page.
Enter the email address, you used when you
created your Hotmail account. It can be any email address or email ending in a
Microsoft domain such as hotmail.com or outlook.com.
If you have security information in your
account, we will send a unique code to the alternate phone number or email the address you provided.
After entering the code, you get on your
email or phone number, you can create a new password.
Enter your new password, then select Next.
Note
If you reset your
Hotmail account password and still have trouble logging in, you may have
changed your account settings.
